Ok I'm trying my hand at FMQ and I need some help. I have my pressure foot on light pressure, feed dogs down... What is the stitch length suppose to be at? I practiced last night and when I do loops the bobbin thread excessively loops up to the top on the curves.. Do I need to change some tensions or something?

I set my stitch length to 0, because the speed you move at determines the size of the stitches. This way also the needle move quicker. I move my needle fast but my fabric slower, and even slower at the curves. You have to adjust the tension until the stitches look right and practice, practice, prctice. Prepare a few practicing sandwiches with solid colors. This way to get to see your stitches with no trouble.

for my machine, putting the presser foot on a heavier pressure works best to kind of stabilize or hold down the sandwich better as you go

the stitch length is determined only by how fast or slow you move the quilt.
you need fast foot pedal speed and a bit slower hand movement. if you move too fast the stitches won't be good.
try a practice block first.
