Whatever size you'd like ... consider the height and depth of your shelving, how many folds you want to put in the fabric and the amount of fabric you are putting on it.

Fabric width is 40-45". So 1/2 as it would be on a regular bolt would be 23". If you you wanted a 2nd fold, then 12-1/2". And I'm sure that 12" would be more than adequate as we seldom see 45" fabric now.

It depends where it it fit. I cut mine 9 x 11 because it will fit in my cubby that way. I get mine at the $ store. I can get several out of 1 sheet.

I cut my boards 5" X 12" or 6" X 12". They fit on my shelves nicely that way. I also got my Foam board at the Dollar Tree.

I cut mine about 8 x 11. They fit nice on my shelves at that size. Your shelves may be different. The foam boards from either Dollar Tree or Dollar General cut really nice with a rotary cutter.

When I buy fabric at Joann's, I ask for any fabric boards that have the two flappy pieces on them. I can get four boards out of each one, they are just the right size for my spaces, and what better than the boards that the fabric comes on?? Ann

cut it to fit your shelves you plan to put it- everyone's shelves are different- adapt to what you are using

It depends on where you are going to store them. The comic book boards I purchased are 10.5" x 8".
