Focus fabric quilt pattern

I am going to make my grand-daughter a quilt using fussy cut fabric with deer pictures. They area that I want to cut would make squares 6 or 8 inches. I want the rest of the quilt to look scrappy. I can not find a pattern that I like that I can incorporate the deer fabric into. Very frustrating...I have all of the fabrics...but don't know where to go with them. Any suggestions? Thanks.....Carol otherwise know as Reba!

How about a sawtooth block with the fussy cut in the center block? The sawtooth area could be scrappy & the blocks joined with scrappy lattice.

Sounds like the pattern Just Can't Cut It may work. You would use your deer fabric plus five others, and you vary the arrangement in each block.

I have used snowball with four patch turned out well.

Warm wishes!

Or a log cabin with a huge center, you might even be able to use the scraps from your fussy cutting for "logs".

Ohio Star

Any of a number of 9 patch patterns

Another good choice---------------and fairly quick and easy. The adjoining squares could even be "crazy' quilted using the scraps. You'd just have to pick a couple neutrals for the snowball corners.,

How about Perfect Ten by Swirly Girls Design. Not sure what size the squares are but you could probably adjust the pattern to fit your focus fabric.

Another vote for Warm Wishes. I'm doing that one for a floral with similar size areas to be fussy cut.

I was thinking the exact same thing! or even a 9 patch though the patches would be little. . . or maybe a pinwheel block instead of the 4 patch or 9 patch

Thank you all so much for your input...am going to look up the quilt patterns mentioned! I don't feel so stuck!!

You could do an irish chain, single double would be best for fussy cutting IMHO

I was looking for something else online and found this pattern that may work for you - it's a freebie:
