fold and stitch wreath
 

How heavy interfacing do you use to make the fold and stitch wreath, do you use a fusible kind...I have some pellon craft fuse 808 it said it was for placemats wall hangings purses and children toys... is this heavy enough? Thanks

I don't know of the fold and stitch wreath so I'm no help. I was hoping to see an example of what it is. Good luck.

I use the fusible batting type in my wreaths. I just posted some I made

I think on the back of the pattern it specifies what they prefer using.

The pattern says Peltex. Saw a video yesterday how to do it. When I first saw the wreaths I thought of hot pads sewn together. I think they would be quite the gift for the host for large table centers.

Our local quilt shop did a demo on Saturday. She used Deco Bond. Seemed stiff enough.

I so want to make some of these.

Just the other day a neighbor friend of mine showed me two of them she'd just made. One with very stiff pellon interfacing and the other without. I preferred the one with the stiffer interfacing if it were mine. I have the pattern and getting ready to make one for my dining table so now I know which interfacing to order. Its great when you can see 1st hand the differences between the interfacing.

I have made 3 of these wreaths using the Peltex 71F Ultra Firm Stabilizer ( listed on the pattern) which I purchased at Joann's fabrics. It works fine. I could not find the Bosal fusible foam that was listed. Using a fusible makes it easier as you sew closely around the these then turn them right side out. turning them can be tricky if they aren't fused!

I use peltex single side fusible and it works great!

Good Morning, I use the Pellon 71F one sided fusible ultra firm stabilizer. I found it easy to work with. My Bernina seemed to like it. I liked the finished product. The first fold and stitch I made I used an interfacing and didn't like the looks, it wasn't fresh looking.

I prefer the softer look so I use a very light fusible with 2 cotton fabrics. I made one using slightly heavier fabric and did not use any interfacing. This one is being used as an easter 'basket' so it has plastic easter eggs stuffed in each petal. When being stored, I stuff a small bit of tissue in each petal. I love having things poke out of the petals. My halloween one has little mummies and ghosts, my St.Patty's day one has gold coins and leprechauns. I have also varied the sizes from 4" finished squares to 6 1/2" finished. The 4" has the center almost meeting and the larger is perfect for setting a bowl or plant in the middle.

I bought some Bosal through Wal-Mart.com

I also used the P71 pellon. It worked just fine

I just started one and am using Sew Lazy Stiff Stuff:Firm Interfacing by Lazy Girl Designs. It was what the quilt shop recommended instead of what was used by the 3 D Wreath pattern that they felt was too stiff for turning. I used 505 Spray to fuse it to the backing. Seemed to work just fine but am not sure how stiff you want your project.
