I recently purchased a Foley & Williams sewing machine and I'm trying to find out more information about it.

The serial number on it is 750328

Any help would be appreciated.

I see your machine was made in Cincinnati, OH. I have lived in Cincinnati over 40 years. But then I think it dates back before my time. It might be found in some part of Cincinnati History.

Some time ago I found some old glass milk bottles that were made in Cincinnati. That was a new one for me. But this city has a rich history. From beer to ......sewing machines?

I have researched the company but can't seem to find an example of the machine. All of the pictures of examples that I find are of a different models with different appearences. The closest seems to be around 1900. What I do know is that it dates between 1885 and 1926 as that is the life of the company.

I began cleaning the years of dirt and grime off of the machine and it once had gold ornate all over the machine. 90% of it is gone and unfortunately it is also gone where it looks like the name was on both the front and back but can't make it out.

Thanks for the replys so far but I'm still looking for some info for this Foley & Williams machine. Any help is much appreciated.

It looks like the foley and williams new goodrich no. 1 ( links above) manufactured 1907 OR a goodrich a vibrating shuttle from approx 1900 (link to original sales ad below)

http://buy.id.ebay.com/buying/en/dis...chine-Brochure

If you go to http://pages.sewing-machine-manuals....922560408.html you can compare it to the manual for the new goodrich and if it's the same one you can buy the manual there (I think you're SOL on finding a free manual for this one).

I hope that helps a bit :) Good luck I love these old girls.
