Sorry folks, I don't know what to call what I am looking for. I want to make a small quilt to go across the foot of the bed. I am thinking of making them for gifts for nursing home residents. Does anybody know a correct name? Or size? Or a good quilting pattern to use.
Thank you so much.

I just sew them like a wide table runner but make them long enough so that they reach end to end. You really do not need a pattern. They are fun to make and you can use lots of your scraps.

It's called a bed runner, do a search here or in Google for samples & patterns.

I just make mine the width of the top of the bed & then make it into a square. I then fold the topper quilt down at the foot of the bed. I see others make them more like a table runner.

Thanks, folks. I also did a search on this forum and found beautiful pictures.
