I use the little round rubber jar openers under my sewing machine pedal. They work great.

I use a piece of foam rubber that came as packing on something. It's about 1/2" thick.

My husband found a Gel Mouse Pad w/Wrist Rest and nonskid base at a yard sale for $.25. I told him that if he didn't want it, I'd take it. He didn't like it.
Anyway, I wrapped my foot pedal in the shelf lining rubber-stuff from the $1 Tree Store and then put this mouse pad on top of it. I rest my heel on the gel rest and it feels so good!! The shelf lining keeps the foot pedal from moving on the carpet and the mouse pad from sliding on the foot pedal! I just put a rubber band around it to hold it in place, nothing permanent.

What does IMHO stand for?

I got this at the $ store as well. Great for all kinds of things including this.

My solution is cheap. It's also available to everyone. I just sew in sock feet. No shoes. That way I can curl my toes over the end of the footpedal and it stays put. IMHO

Nice tip...

This has been my preferred method for as far back as I can remember!

I took two mousepads and glued the tops to each other, that way the nonskid side is on the top and bottom. And the foot pedal stays put and doesn't slide on the rug.

I know your question was in realtion to carpet, it made me think...I had laminate floors in Texas, and I hot glued mine down. It was great, I was able to pick it up any time I needed to and just a touch of hot glue reaffixed it.

I like the mouse pad idea, thanks! I must admit I have been using the curled toe method most recently.
