Formal Garden pattern by Jane Sassman

I bought the fabric kit and pattern for this pattern at a quilt show years ago. I was so disappointed to find a diagram of pieces as the pattern. only that.

It reminds me of a pattern you might find on a manufacturer web site. I think a lot of shops will use the free manufacturing patterns when creating kits...keeps the cost down.

Is it similar to a one block wonder, but with 4 rather than 6? If so you would need to fussy cut identical blocks for each section. other than that it looks like 4 patches on point. Disappointing there aren't more instructions, but at least it shouldn't be too hard to put together. It will be beautiful once you get it done!

well i could layer fabrics and match certain things, then cut. i made a four patch poesy with four layers of fabric with repeats. so one day!

Kind of hard to tell, since the fabric is so busy, but I agree, it looks like a 4-patch posey or a Florentine Fantasy. My friends and I have made several Florentine Fantasy quilts; they're super easy and super fun. Added bonus - the pattern is free from Robert Kaufman!! Go here and click just to the right of the quilt where it says "download more info".

Don't forget to upsize the pieces you cut to allow for the seams. All the sizes you see are finished sizes. That's going to be a beautiful quilt. I am saving that pattern. I draw a lot of patterns in EQ and never have instructions. It gets easier to figure out how to put the pieces together after a very short while.

Edited to add: I found the pattern on the Free Spirit website and all you get is the pattern you have. It's just the finished sizes of each piece. Good luck! It really won't be hard. Jane Sassaman is the designer and apparently designs in that way. http://www.janesassaman.com/Jane_Sas...Templates.html

It looks easy to me. It's just squares and half square triangles.
cut the squares like you are fussy cutting and you should have no trouble.
EM me if you need more help.
