Yesterday I found a beautiful little quilt shop way off the beaten path, The lady at Joann's told me about it. Since I was already an hour from home I decided to check it out. She had 2 monthly drawings for $15.00 gift certificates. All the fabric was $7.99 a yard, still a little pricey for me and fat quarters were $2.20 But I was looking for Dirt Bike Fabric and she had it in fat quarters. The only thing that was a draw back is Her shop smelled very strong of apple cinnamon. When I pressed the fabric today it was STRONG! I could never take my mother there as she would have an instant migraine. Anyone else go to a small fabric shop that does this? Do you think I should mention it if (when)I go back?

Glad you found a new LQS. As for the smell, yes, I would mention it for the mere fact tha alot of folks have allergies or as my DD does, chemical allergies as does DH. He can't go into a candle shop or near one w/out getting instant headache. DD gets sick with certain smells and if it is that strong, it may be keeping other buying customers away.

Those horrible fake cinnamon smells - like on brooms and pine cones - set off asthma attacks for me. I wash fabric as I bring them home, but would not be comfortable shopping there.

It is the season at my local Joann's. They have the pine cones at the doorway and I have to scoot quickly by them, the poor cashiers...
