Found tons of batting- question about 2 of them
Hi everyone, I found a trove of batting hiding in my bedroom in a closet that goes to the attic. Forgot all about it for years. Most is Warm and Natural but found others, along with brand new pillow forms.
Two questions: High loft polyester- queen size- what can I use it for? No clue- 2 big bags A roll of what looks like felt but it's that stuff that you sew with. I can't even think of what it's called. Can anyone help? Thanks. |
I have used high loft poly for tied T-shirt quilts. Worked really well.

Happy you found a treasure trove.

I use the felt in tablecloths and placemats instead of batting and it works well.

Maybe the felt like stuff is Thinsulate by Pelion. I think that what it's called. You may want to make a small quilt sandwich with it and machine wash and dry it to see how it reacts before using it in a project.

make sure the mice have not nested in it. Speaking from experience.

High loft batting is great for tied quilts. Lots of Lutheran World Relief quilts sent overseas are done that way. Also, it can be used for kids quilts -- kids like soft and comfy. I use scraps of high loft batting in pillows. It makes a good buffer between the outer quilted part and the pillow form.
