I decided to do a 4PP out of a beautiful large floral print I've had for a while. Only had a meter and it had a 7 3/4 repeat so I figured I was good to go. Well, what was supposed to be an easy job turned into a bigger task. I wish fabric manufacturers realized the importance of printed across the width accurately. I had to subcut the width and then cut my 4 repeats on that piece. Then I had to stack the remaining fabric after I realigned it and cut the rest of my stacks. I have now cut my squares and have them sitting on my paper plates. They look great but I am taking a much needed break. I have a cup of tea and am sitting at my computer relaxing with my favourite site.

I can't wait to see your quilt :D:D:D
I haven't noticed this issue, as I always cut mine in half as it is easier for me to handle. It is good to know to double check this though :D

Hope you're going to make this a sew along for all of us! .... start with the original fabric, and your pile of paper plates! :) Pleeeeeeeease? :)

I did my 4PP with a repeat about the same as yours, and didn't have quite the full 4 repeats.

Here it is ....

It will be beautiful when done! And that skill will come in handy if you ever need it in another quilt! I recently did a quilt and because of cutting mistakes (arghhh!) I ended up cutting 4 matching squares to make a "posie" and used it in place of the single squares I should have cut. That little bit of serendipity turned out even better!

Can't wait to see your finished 4PP!

I "borrowed" a camera. Over in Pictures I posted the way I cut my meter of fabric and the blocks on plates. The title is "Four Patch Posies-Update,Maybe"
