Try fray check on a sample first; make sure you like the result.

I have to agree with bkay. My experience with Fray Check has been that it sometimes leaves a different color and is quite stiff. I really like it for buttons and buttonholes. I used to use it for stopping runs in nylons. lol

I was going to say might want to use Fray Block first. Block dries clear and not stiff; I don't know how Fray check dries.

I've tried Fray Check and it's awful. Fray Block dries softer. Both are difficult to apply just right for me. I end up with a mess. I tossed both of them.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions! I plan to create a sample block using the suggestions, and have several great ideas for improvement!
