very complicated I think. At least it's far above my level :-)
http://applewd.com/BOM/page1.html the link is on the top right corner ' step 1' . |
It does look complicated, but if you like components of it, you could make those, follow along as far as you can, and then adapt it to be a little simpler when the going gets rougher than you find fun.
edited to add -- after looking at step one directions, I don't think I would construct the block the way she suggests (though she does explain her rationale for doing so). I personally don't have huge knots when I make a flying goose, but if you do, her method might be worth trying out. The first set of blocks is doable for a confident beginner. RST |
All I can say is wow
That is one question only you can answer. Do you feel up to doing the first block? If that thought doesn't worry you, then you may be OK to move on. Sometimes we need to dive into the deep end of the pool so we can challenge ourselves.

that's really pretty! Thank you so much for the link. I'll save it and maybe try it next year!
I'll save the pattern. In a few years someone will be searching for it!
I love this, but can't download the pattern. Anyone else have a problem?
I know for now it's too much to ask from myself, but I do download the pattern.
Karen, when you click the 'first step', do you get a new page, but empty? I had that, and after clicking the 'refresh' button (right side of the URL) it downloaded perfectly. |
You're awesome, it worked!
Thank you

Hmmmm. It doesn't look like a Christmas quilt at all to me??!!
You're welcome Karen, it happened to me a few times on other sites as well.
stewyscreqy, I've put her blog in my Google Reader, so I automaticaly see the new posts and she announces the next step there. I do that with al BON's I want to follow, because there is no way I would remember LOL. If you're not familiar with Google Reader, just go to the google site and search for their Reader, it explains everything (can't send you a link, because of the 'cookies' in my PC I only get the Dutch version, and somehow I don't think that would make live easier for you LOL) |
Thank you for sharing !!
Never in a million years can I do that.
That is beautiful, It is so funny that we just had Kathy Amperan as our guild meeting today and she showed us a quilt with the same middle of a feathered star, and exclaimed that it was her first and last feathered star. She thought it was very hard to do correctly. Good luck for those who try it.

Gorgeous. Not something I will be doing BOM or not. Put that on my not-to-do list. I probably could accomplish it, but it is too expensive, too much applique and will take too long.
Oh,but it's beautiful.
Way to complicated for me, but it is beautiful!
i will take a look
wow, wish i had the time. that would fit my bed nicely!
Beth's stuff is fairly easy, UNTIL this quilt..this is the most challenging on she has done in a couple of years....
Her method for machine applique is amazing to learn and really not that hard to learn! If you really love this, save the files to your puter and then revisit it at the end of the year to see if you really want to do it! |
