Free BOM patterns for 2019

Does anyone know of any free BOM patterns being offered? If so, would you share? Thank you.......

GingerK 12-29-2018 06:23 PM

This site has 2. But you have to download the pattern during the first month for it to be free. https://www.fatcatpatterns.com/index.html

And this one has the same requirements. It is a tuxedo cat pattern. I'm planning on following along.

If you join the Quilt Show (https://thequiltshow.com/) you get the BOM patterns for 2017, 2018, and 2019 free. That's quite a bargain for high quality patterns with expert instruction, but they do tend to be complicated.

Quilt Doodle Designs is doing a 1930's style BOM https://quiltdoodledesigns.blogspot.com/p/bom-2019.html . I've always wanted to do a '30s quilt so I will certainly be downloading and hopefully sewing along.

Here's some that I found. Some are older than 2019 but are still free:

I have enjoyed participating in two free BOMs this year.... however... one was a tad more detailed than the other.... I purchased a pattern for $$$ while traveling a few years back... and I really want to find a way to enjoy doing it as my own personal BOM....

meanmom 12-31-2018 05:31 AM

I was hoping someone would post this. I found a couple of BOM on here last year. I am looking for something for this year.

Thanks for the links---hope to try at least one of these posted.

Here is a really pretty BOM patterns maker. She has a beautiful “Art Deco” bock of the month but it is listed under her patterns. Some are free, and some you buy, but all very nice applique and pieced quilt patterns.

if you are a Harry Potter fan there is this one starting up - https://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/...ilt-along.html and also this one by Pat Sloane https://www.freequiltpatterns.info/2...this-world.htm

Wow! Her art nouveau flowers are beautiful. I've been thinking about doing some hand applique. This might be the project.

Pat Sloan always has a BOM going on. She is starting this year with a space mystery but you can use any type of fabric. Piecing the Past has had several wonderful BOM's. This year starts with pretty Blue Delft blocks. Fat Cat and Quilt Doodle are great too. If you like hand embroidery, try Jenny of Elefantz. Lovely floral handwork! Moda fabrics always has something in the Bake Shop. There are many more just search around and have fun!

I don't think anyone linked these BOMs so here are a few I found ...........

https://quiltdoodledesigns.blogspot....-bom-2019.html and here's one from Barbara Brackman http://barbarabrackman.blogspot.com/...ias-royal.html also Fat Quarter Shop https://blog.fatquartershop.com/thre...y-quilt-along/

Sherileeaz 01-01-2019 11:44 AM

Question: Does anyone know of a Christmas quilt-along like the one done on #haveyourselfaquiltychristmas years ago? I’d like to do a 2019 Holiday quilt block like this one. Or a BOM to finish by Christmas. Maybe there is something here. Im new to this board, thanks for any help.

Barb in Louisiana 01-01-2019 04:04 PM

It seems there are many more free BOM's that I knew about. Now which one to add to my UFO list?

thimblebug6000 01-01-2019 04:21 PM

I know this isn't exactly a BOM but if you like paper piecing paperpanache.com posts a mystery block regularly, some are very detailed.

thimblebug6000 01-02-2019 08:02 AM

I got an email this morning from the Sew Incredibly Crazy blog that they will be starting a new BOM in February. I did their 2018 one, and it was mostly appliqué but they say this will be a mix of piecing and appliqué.

fairydawn 01-02-2019 01:54 PM

Found a few more....Calico Patch has a wool applique, Fat Quarter Shop will be starting their Threadology QAL soon, and Wish Upon a Quilt has a block journey of women in the Bible.

One of several ways to keep up with the BOM, QAL, SAL, and other important quilter events is to follow <a href="https://quiltbom.wordpress.com/">Quilt BOM</a>.

costumegirl 01-06-2019 10:37 AM

Barbara Brackman is featuring "Stars in Her Crown"
http://barbarabrackman.blogspot.com/...next-week.html

- 9 blocks representing Queen Victoria's children. If you are a fan of the TV series "Victoria" you may like all the background info and insights that she gives about the Royal family and about the Victorian era. I think the final results of the BOM will be very pretty whether you choose to use traditional fabrics or contemporary. I think it's free.

Quilting on the Square www.QOTS.com, I think, ? that is its site, from Holton, KS., does a monthly newsletter free, and they do paper piecing BOM every year. (Starts in March, and runs a year) I have downloaded and saved them for about four or five years. (They are on my bucket list) Each of the squares are designed by them and are at the end of the newsletter. Each square is four inches finished. The daughter in law posts each month's newsletters, and I have not checked lately on its site address on internet, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong...PM me.

I have learned a lot about different BOM s here and will check out several of them. Thanks for posting this subject.

MyCharmedCabinLife 01-12-2019 09:47 AM

UFOs Galore 01-12-2019 04:58 PM

Buttermilk Basin has a free BOM pattern also.

mindless 01-21-2019 10:56 AM

Fairydawn mentioned Pat Sloan's 201 Mystery BOM here.
Did you know that she still has her last 5 Mystery BOMs still available? Still free?
Scroll down just a little bit (just below her out of this world mystery) for a list- BOMs from 2014,2015,2016 &2017:
https://blog.patsloan.com/2019-out-o...+World+Details

And UFOsGalore mentioned Buttermilk Basin's free BOM.
Sherileeaz, this one is a Happy Holidays BOM. It's here:
