Free or Low Shipping
I am always trying to minimize my shipping costs for fabric!
What online fabric houses have you found that offer free or low shipping? I have dealt with Hancock's of Paducah, free shipping if order is over $200 (I don't get over that min. often...wish it were $100 FatQuarterShop, also $200 min. Fabric.com, free shipping on orders over $35 but limited selections Anyone got any other suggestions? Regards, Janet |
The only free shipping I'm aware of is within Canada (since that's where I'm located). For other Canucks: sew-sisters.com - free shipping within Canada on orders over $100.

I have automatic messages from both Hobby Lobby and Jo Ann's (which I signed up for) and they send messages weekly with their ads and sometimes there is free shipping. Plus many of the other quilting on-line sites run specials with either 3.99 or no shipping. Missouri Star Quilt Company has $5.00 flat rate on up to $100 and then it is free as an example. http://www.missouriquiltco.com/, just one of many.

I recently bought some fabric from Whittles and it has very cheap shipping. I did pick out a fabric that they no longer had in stock and I didn't find out until I received my order. So I guess you have to take your chances with them. BTW, I loved the fabric I did get from them. It was very nice.
Here's the link to their website. http://www.whittlesfabrics.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi |

A good online vendor will let you know if they are going to ship your order short of an item/items. If for no other reason than to give you a chance to choose something else, which maximizes their sales as well.

MSCO was out of stock of an item after I placed my order. They sent me an email to let me know and it was marked on my shipping label when I got my order. Once it was back in stock, they mailed it right out. I wasn't in a big hurry for it so I was ok with that but their customer service dept is top notch. They went as far as looking in their store for a match for a fabric for me.

I have purchased from Quilt in a Day (Eleanor Burns' shop) and had free or very cheap shipping. Also, Joann.com, Hancock Fabrics (not Hancock's of Paducah), Connecting Threads & Keepsake Quilting.

Bear Paw Quilting runs free shipping frequently. I signed up for their email list. There is free shipping right now.
http://www.bearpawquilting.com/ I also have signed up to get emails and catalogs from Clotilde, Keepsake Quilting and Connecting Threads. Every now and then I get an email for a code for discount off purchase or free shipping. Got one this morning from Clotilde this morning and I am looking thru their catalog right now! http://www.clotilde.com/?source=CXBD...FbEBQAodjE1SWw http://www.keepsakequilting.com/default.aspx http://www.connectingthreads.com/Quilting.cfm |
I googled it and came up with this list:
