Thank you! I had no idea there were so many accessories!

I followed Leah Day's instructions for "breaking" the foot. It works great.

romanojg has it all out for you to see. I'd have gone with the second foot as I like to really see what I'm doing. I finally bought the foot made for my machine and omg I wish I'd done it years ago as the foot is made to work with the machine and the results are so much easier and cleaner. Check out Sewing Parts Online, they can be a little more economical on some items.

They can both be used for free motion quilting. One of the clear round plastic feet came with my Bernina, as well as a closed darning-type foot and an open toe type of foot.

I agree with this. I have 2 Viking machines and I know that they will use the accessories that are the #7. Most of the accessory pages will state what machines they will NOT work with. The Accessory Book in the HV website has pictures and instructions for each of their accessories--as well as the product number.

Can someone clarify this for me please? Thank you!

I have the first foot...love that saucer! I have it both for my Sapphire & also for my Janome 6600...all I use for FMQ! I prefer NOT to have hopping feet. I ordered mine through Viking for the Sapphire. Ordered the 3 piece set from Janome. Only way I could get it...never use the other 2.

I have the Sapphire 870Q and have the echo foot you bought but I also bought the Q foot for FMQ just last year and I love that foot more that the regular free motion foot.

I'm not familiar with your machine but I bought the plastic foot in your top picture and didn't work with my machine. Even with my feed dogs down and the pressure on my pressure foot set to the lightest it still didn't let my fabric move around. I also followed Leah Day's instructions for modifying a generic foot and it worked great. I ordered my foot on Amazon and I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but it was super cheap like $2. You could order two incase you are worried about cutting the plastic. http://www.leahday.com/shop/product/...quilting-foot/
