When you Free Motion do you use gloves and the motion slider? I am practicing for my first project. Well my first free motion project that is. Tomorrow I am going to buy me some gloves but have also looked at getting the slider. What do you prefer or like best?

i use gloves and i had DH built me a free motion surface like in this you tube video.

it works like a charm.

I use gloves, when I remember but I don't have a slider. I do have a cabinet that my machine sinks into and so I have a large flat surface to work on

I don't have a slider (yet) but I will not quilt without my gloves. They help so much.

A friend who does FMQ says the slider is great, and she uses gloves! She does awesome work! :lol: :lol:

It's a teflon sheet that you attach to the bed of the machine that helps the quilt slide easily as you quilt. There are a few different names for them: Super Slider is the latest, I think. Here is a link:
