Today in my quilt class I heard the term "Froggin" for the first time. I am new at quilting so don't have all of the terminology yet.
Well, surprise to me, I found out I am an expert as the term means ripping out and resewing which I have had extensive practice. At least I am good at something. :) :) :) |
Well, what do you know?! I've never heard of it either and now I'm beginning to understand what my grammar teacher meant. Read, thick head, read, one day you'll learn something and today, I DID! Thank you for that. I'm adding it to my list of acronyms, and links.

I had never heard that term either. I use many other terms for ripping and resewing, but most can't be repeated in polite company.
thanks...seems I'm good at Froggin too :)

I've heard it as the phrase "Fog Stitching" rippet, rippet, rippet :)
I had the frog visit me often while cross stitching and thought I would never hear from him again, but he has decided to follow me into the quilting world too. Ladies, hold on tight to your seam rippers.
That's a derivative that's new to me too...always heard it as frog stitchin'...and I've used it so much that even my DH knows what it means and uses it appropriately...right after he hears the machine stop and I've had long enough to see the booboo and groan...he'll ask if I need to do some frog stitchin'... just like kids, they remember the "good" stuff!
Some of my sewing buddies refer to the same activity as "Reverse Sewing". |
LMBO the other night when I was "frog stitching" I had a chorus of frogs outside singing along with me :lol::lol:
lol that is too funny. I'll have to tell DH that one.
Yes, it is known as frogging ... ripit, ripit ... I'm a pro at frogging!
You sure that wasn't Friggin' ? LOL
I have never heard that term used, but I love it. I too have had experience with "frogging".

I'm an excellent frogger :-) And then for the knitting crowd, there is 'tinking' (knit spelled backwards, which means...un-knitting!). Gotta smile when we're frogging and tinking :-)
I have to remember this one. I am also a pro at froggin.
I have been doing that for YEARS and never knew it even had a term.
I'm really good at that too I even have my seam ripper velcoed to the front of my machine so I always have it handy and don't misplace it. It is also good to push the fabrics through the machine when needed. my frogg always stays busy here. Rippty Rip Rip Rip
