BTDT. I usually lay my top out as flat as possible and then take my backing fabric and fold and maneuver as necessary to get to where I need to be. Still doesn't always work but I've had more success than failure that way. Tomorrow is another day.

Ah, another wonderful day in the wonderful world of quilting!! Leave it, have a glass of wine and a hot bath, and things will be better tomorrow. My mom used to say (over and over and over).... this too shall pass!!

Buy a large bag of M&M's and call it a day. I put mine in the freezer, just love them so cold. (M&M's, not the quilts.) Not only do I like them better this way but no one else can find them either.

I know what you mean, I hate froggy (constantly having to rip out) and discombubalated (just can't do anything right) days!!! We all have them and it's okay to scream and throw it down and come back tomorrow!!! Ask me how I know....LOL

I hate piecing backs, I always get them turned around, even if I mark them. Of course, I usually have it half pinned before I discover it. I then have to wraggle it around so I can add a piece to it, that I have cut off the longer sides/ends. I try to get the wide backing fabric.

Please know you're not alone...I've had those days where I couldn't sew a straight seam to save my life. After ripping out the same seam for the third time, I just back away and come back a day or two later when my mind is fresh. Must have been a fluke for you that day. You can always say it's the same as those quilts where one block on the front is purposely turned or positioned the wrong way...except your's is the backing instead of the front. What the heck are those particular quilts called anyway? Somebody help out. :-)

I never make any part of my pieced backs even - I always do them off center or off something On Purpose. Do you know how hard it is to get everything even when you go to quilt! This way you start off center and don't have to worry about it.

Sounds like this quiltneeds to be put in "time out" for a while. These things don't have to be perfect. BTW: I use a scalpel to snip the stitches while the DH uses gentle pressure to ease the pieces apart. Very fast!

Most of us can relate...just recently I worked ALL DAY LONG on one BOM and was so frustrated at it not going together correctly I balled it up and threw it in a corner of my sewing room.....a couple days later I picked it up, ironed it up and finished it up without a hitch.....frustration and being tired really gives us fits!!
