I would like to make a quilt for my king size bed and it doesn't look like i"m going to be able to get a new sewing machine for a while. I only have 4.5" throatspace on my machine so I was thinking of doing the Fun and Done meathod for this bedquilt. Her patterns only go up to size twin... for a king would I just make the twin 2 times as big? I heard the king is the size of 2 twins..... help :)

Most kings are longer than twins. A twin mattress is 39" x 75, a king is 78" x 80" (Cal kings are bigger). I don't know what size her twins are, but you would need to make it longer for sure as well as double the width.

I think a king is the same as 2 long twins (same as in dorm rooms etc)

I think though you could apply the technique to any size you need.

I'm curious. What machine has a 4.5" throat space?

you can make the fun and done in any size, it is just a technique.

It's the size of two twins. Go to the fun and done website. Look under FAQ and they tell you how to do it. I am making one right now!!!

Be sure and use a shorter stitch when you put the blocks togather as the extra weight will pull the seams apart.
I learned this the hard way and did not even make a king size.
