I have been a member of our local guild for 23 years. Activities come and go, I have chaired many committees in those years. I am looking for ideas for new fun activities. Please tell me about fun activities in your guile.
Thanks

My local guild has quit doing anything FUN....most boring guild I have ever belonged to!

Now in AK we had all kinds of FUN things going on!
Birthday box, Secret pals, brown bag swaps, auctions, challenges, you name it!

I will be watching this thread, as I hope others have great ideas to share!

Most of our meetings are pretty boring, though we did play Quilt Block Bingo at one meeting. That was fun.

Having small group activities for those who want to participate and doing various type of quilts:
row quilts
round robin quilts
block swaps
scrap quilt projects
brown bag swaps

If your guild is small enough then all can participate ... or you can have several small groups.

I would be interested in what you do with the birthday boxes, and challenges etc. I don't belong to a quilting guild, but have been invited to join, so I am thinking about it.

Wow, you are huge! When a friend and I joined (5 yrs ago), they had to change the charter to allow over 50 members. Right now, probably 60 or so, with 35 - 40 per meeting!

-Mystery quilts
-"Garage" sale/swap (bring in what you no longer want, charge low price or give it away)
-Strip club
-We meet 2x/yr at a local senior living center for our monthly meeting and combine it with a dish to pass and show and tell; residents are invited
-Shop hops
-Charity projects: raffle quilts, bags for kids who are moved through protective agencies, chemo caps
-Montly "sew-ins" on a Saturday @ the church where we normally have our monthly meeting
