I am looking for suggestions on how to 'fund raise' for an individual. Or, how do I go about selling some quilts. It's real difficult to sell on a quilting board, because most quilters can make their own. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Competition is the right word.
My g-daughters competed with their dance classes on local and state levels. Won many and lost many.
It's competition between the parents children get so upset. You can spend a lot of money to and get tears and hurts. I know this sounds hard, but I hate see kids hurt. There is a program on TLC channel call Toddlers and Tiaras just watch that program.
Let your g-daughter know that life is not always fair.

How about a raffle?

My daughter's college dance team sold those rubber bracelets with the name of their dance team on them. I guess you can buy them inexpensively and sell them for $5 and make some money. Sorry I don't know where to get them.

Etsy will charge you a flat rate but it reaches so many people as does craigslist.

My daughter made $2,ooo.oo dollars a few years back selling candy bars! She paid for herown trip to France in HS, I couldnt afford to help. Of course, we all helped sell the candy, but she made .50 off each one she sold. Mom gained weight that year though, lol!

I do a quilt for fundraising each year for an organization I'm in...we make more money by doing a raffle than by doing silent auctions...many people will pay five or ten to buy one or two tickets, but few will pay $1200 to $1500 for one quilt...which is what we've been making each year. Our quilt is only a lap quilt...but they go over really well!
