Funny story
 

A year ago I bought a cell phone and received a $100 rebate card. Stashed it in my purse and completely forgot about it. Anyway, last month I was cleaning out my purse and found it but it had expired! I went to the cell phone place and they told me they would replace it! I was so relieved! So when I received my black Friday flyer from JoAnn's I was very excited! I went yesterday and realized the fabric I wanted wasn't on sale until today so I went back today and purchased $69.00 worth of fabric, rotary blades, scissors, a cake storage box and fleece and saved........................ $121.69! I was so excited and I still have $31.00 left to go back!

Congratulations!!!! Years ago, I took my Mom to Cape Cod on vacation...she wanted to give me $100 towards the bill condo rental but I refused to let her pay...so she stuck the $100 in the slippers she took on vacation...when we got home, she forgot about it because she used her old slippers at home...a year later, she had to go to the hospital, and was packing her "vacation" slippers when the $100 fell out...she really needed it then after several dr. visits, bless her heart!!!

Great story but boy do I feel stupid. I did the same thing with my cell phone company but, unlike you, threw it away when I saw it had expired instead of thinking to contact them.

Congratulations. I can't keep a gift or rebate card a week. Don't you know that they sometimes burn holes in pockets and purses?

I believe several years ago that rebate and gift cards had an expiration date or starting charging a fee. That was quickly made illegal for companies to do and that is why they reissued the card. The other day I put on a acket and found 5 dollars and I felt as lucky as you.

You were lucky they were able to replace it. Sometimes things do go our way.

You can still go back to them, they keep those records and can tell you never used your card. Try it, you have nothing to lose. What is the deal anyway on getting these gift cards when you buy something. Why not just sell it for the lower price? I just bought an Xbox with kinnect and got $100. Gift card,took that and bought and IPod touch and got a $50. Gift card. And on it goes!
