I can't wait til you get you sample and let us know what you think of it.

The only difference about Bamboo is that is is cheap to grow and it grows fast. Processing the bamboo into other products takes as much energy and chemicals as it does any other. So to me it would seem more power and chemicals are used because bamboo grows faster to have more to process.
That's like organic foods use more harmful chemicals than the regular chemicals that are being used on non organic foods. It's easy to search for that. The media won't report those facts those. |
Well....I ordered by Fusi-Boo swatch on the day I started this thread in May. And still no swatch. Has anyone else received one? I'm still interested in this and might need to just buy some to try it out!
|
No! I'd forgotten about it until I saw your message.
I ordered a free sample on June 30 and I haven't gotten it yet. I wonder if I ever will. |
Maybe they were overwhelmed with requests....at some point I figured that a "swatch" probably wouldn't be enough to judge by. I think I'll order the smallest size and take a chance! I'll report back someday....

yes i just used spray basting by Sulky adn didn't like it much. seems 505 behaved better. i think though i'll stick to fusible batting.
|
I think it was the Sulky product that gummed up my needles and presser foot. But maybe I just used too much...it was my first quilt and I was nervous about keeping the backing smooth. I've pinned my quilts since then and haven't had problems with backing or puckers but my hands don't appreciate messing with all those pins!

Walmart didn't have it, the employee was thinking about fusible fleece. But I had the fabric dept manager check and she said if Fairfield makes it she can order it. Fairfield is a supplier to Walmart. Any Walmart store can order from any company that is a supplier. If one store can get it from the warehouse, they all can.

I have this product but have only tried one piece. I like to make things with selvedges. I put a piece of muslin down, then the FusiBoo, then the selvedges without sewing them. I just laid them down on top making them overlap slightly on the long edges. I used my applique pressing sheet to press the layers and VOILA! All the selvedges were lined up perfectly and all the layers are ready for quilting. I didn't have to sew each selvedge individually as I have been doing. This is a great product!
