Help! My ironing board cover has patches of gluey fusible residue. How do I remove this? TIA!

I would take scraps of muslin and iron over them and while they're still hot, peel the muslin off. Keep doing that until it's almost gone.

Take the cover off the ironing board and saturate the areas with Goo Gone, let it sit for an hour or so, then spray it with aerosol Shout and wash it in hot water.

Then while it's drying, go hem some squares of muslin so that you can use fusibles and heavy starch on your ironing board without gooing up your cover. ;)

Why not just cover the Board again?

My very first thought indeed, why go into all that work to clean that beast. Besides, new cover is always so enjoyable.

I've done this too and find it is just easier to get a new cover. Why is it...no matter how careful we are, fusibles seem to find their way onto things they shouldn't?

Cover it with a layer of freezer paper (ironed on with slick side down). When that gets sticky or scorched or whatever, just tear it off and apply another layer. Good for using with wonder under and spray adhesives both.
