Hi! I have seen 'fusible fleece' more and more often recently in patterns and am wondering what it is and what you can do with it.

Not living in a country with quilt shops, I don't think I've ever seen it physically.

What do you do with it? Thank you for your help!

I use it in the bow tuck bags

I'm using it in a bathrobe in the bodice area to give it some meat to quilt the area.

Good Morning!
I have used it when making totes and the "snap bags"..it is soft..comes in different thickness'.

it more or less gives the project a thickness, like batting,.

It is great. I use it in table runners, purses and lots of other small projects. The one I use is 987F and I get it at Craft Town Fabrics.

Thank you all so much! So, if I can't find it, can I substitute normal batting? Would it have the same effect?

You are really helping!

it is a (batting type material) -- polyester---with a fusable adhesive added to it---
people use it for purses, bags, all kinds of projects...even quilts-
you can press the fabric/batting/fabric together before construction- and hold it together for quilting.

Thank you all! Between your comments and your links, I am beginning to realize that this is something I want to experiment with!

I love fusible fleece... I buy it by the bolt! I make a lot of pillows, and it gives the pillow covers nice form, substance and is wonderful to embroider on.

Wow, I now understand the attraction of fusible fleece. Thanks to everyone who replied to educate me!
