Fusible Hobbs really thin??
 

I have used the fusible 80/20 hobbs batting on the last couple of quilts and really like the way it works. I do all QAYG. But it is rather thin. I can almost see the backing through it. Anyone else see this as a problem?

I ususally use hobbs 80/20 but one time I bought it it was so thin you could see thru it. I called Hobbs and talked to CS and they said to send sample of batting and the package with reason so I did and they sent me an other package. That is worth a phone call to Hobbs if you think this batting is too thin.

I think all of that batting is very thin. I have used it before and doubled it, makes it very expensive that way.
I haven't used the fusible. I always forget how thin Hobbs is.
I mainly use high loft poly batting. I machine quilt on my Juki TL98 QE, 9" throat machine.

I buy the Hobbs fusible and it all depends on how you want your quilt to look in the end. I like the thinner batting for the kids quilts because they are easier for them to wrap up in. If you love a fluffy quilt you won't like it. I use it for placemats and crafty things also. I love it for QAYG because it's so easy to work with.

I have used Hobbs 80/20 for over 25 years of quilting. I have always bought it by the roll because the quality is much better. I have never used any fusible batting. I prefer the old fashion way of pinning.
