I have some princess material i want to use to make a quilt for my grandaughter I am looking for a pattern that I can use where I can fussy cut the princesses . Anyone have any ideas.

How large are the princesses you want to fussy cut?

I've used Warm Wishes, Log Cabin, Square in Square, Chain and even an Ohio Star type block for fussy cuts.

I made one for a friend to give to her granddaughter - fussy cutting a square around each princess then just put sashing around the block. Sorry I don't have a pic... thought I did but can't find it. If you are wanting to cut around each princess, I assume you are planning to applique them onto another fabric? I would still put sashing around that block. It turns out nice.

Adding this thought - for the "sashing" you could make little blocks of the different colors in the dresses and sew them together. Kinda like a cottage quilt sashing. Hope you can understand what I am trying to say ;-)

depending on how large they are and how close together on your fabric, maybe you could cut them out on point?

I just measured my princesses and they are about 6 inch square, I am thinking that warm wishes might work well. Thanks for all your help

I have a Squares on a String picture that I probably copied from this board and it might work well for a large fussy cut.

Another thing I just thought of is a 9 Patch & Snowball with the princesses in the Snowball and the 9 patch in coordinating colors.

Warm Wishes is usually my first choice for a quick & easy pattern to showcase a particular fabric.
