Please would someone tell me what this means. thanks

It means selecting a special print and cutting your square so that the very best parts of your fabric are centered in the square. It requires each square to be cut individually.
Hope this helps....

You specifically cut a motif out thereby "fussy" cutting it. Example. You have fabric that has a certain flower, picture or something in it. You cut around that image (adding 1/4" seam allowance) and use that in possibly the center of the block you are making. When you fussy cut rather than just cutting strips and use the fabric as it comes, you need more fabric than what the pattern would call for. When you get done fussy cutting your material, your material kind of looks like swiss cheese. I hope this explanation is helpful.

Thanks for the explanations. I was wondering what that meant also.

You're real "fussy" about the pattern on the fabric and how you want it to be highlighted the best way when you cut it out. Usually centering the design in the square to show it off to it's best advantage.
