Garden Brick Pattern....In Search of....

In search of a pattern I have only seen a picture of. It is called, I believe,
GARDEN BRICK...from best I can tell from the picture looks like a very
tradition simple brick pattern (not yellow brick) but has a simple strip
of white added at the end of each brick and then between the bricks,
the strips looks to be no more than a half inch finished. The bricks are
set staggered, half on full, and the end result looks very much like a
chimney wall with the motar between the bricks.....I have searched
all my books and on the internet....and not really come up with any
thing.....so has any one done one like this or do you have the pattern
in one of your books....Please and thank you in advance for all your
help.

Is this the quilt? http://www.filminthefridge.com/2010/...from-the-park/

I think you could make it easily without a pattern.

decide on the size of your bricks and then the width of your sashing. sew the bricks end to end with the sashing. for the alternate rows, use a 1/2 brick on each end. then sew the rows alternately together with the same size sashing. HTH

Thats about exactly what I was planning on doing, I was thinking of cutting the bricks about 4-1/2 x 7-1/2", so they would finish 4 x 7, then cut my sashing about 1", so it would finish about a half, does that sound about right on the proportions.....don't want the sashing to overshadow the bricks. This is going to be a lap quilt for grandaughter and is all pink/brown and horses......
