Has anyone worked with Gel Medium?
Can this be put on fabric when quilting a purse? What affects would it have on the fabric? I would appreciate any help. Thank you |
Are you talking about the gel medium used for fabric painting?
It can be sewn through, although it does make the fabric stiff, the thicker you apply it, the stiffer the fabric will be. It will be easier to answer your question if we know how you are planning on using it :D:D:D |
I bought one of these interchangable purses, and the fabric does not seem very nice. I wanted to preserve the fabric from fading.
Do you recommend a certain brand and where do you buy it? |
I am not sure this is what you are looking for... the textile medium will make the fabric stiff... It is used for fabric painting, or as a glue to add glitter to fabric. It is not meant to paint on fabric to stiffen or preserve it. :D:D:D

There is a spray made just to keep fabric from fading... I don't recall the name of it though :D:D:D

This summer on a Quilt Hop, we ran across some fabric that was almost like oil cloth. I was hoping that is what the Gel Medium would do.
Thank you for your help. |
or wash or soak it in Retayne to keep the colors as they are.
