I love your idea of the k8ids drawings and primary colors. Having done one similar , trust me the teacher will LOVE it always.

I always go with Kona bright solids for my crib quilts.
Green, purple, orange, red, and yellow. You can do a string quilt and use a lot of bright children prints in the above mentioned colors if you have them in your stash. I stay away from pinks and blues. |

I know Green, Cream, yellow..... Can you put pinks, blues, browns in a gender neutral baby quilt? I'm soooo lost on what to do. Thanks Kimberly |
My baby's room is gender neutral even though I new I was having a girl. I made her nursery a turqoise blue ocean theme, main colors being a pastel turquoise, pastel green, and a pastel purple.

DD wanted it as a gift to friends. I am not a Grammy or never will be according to my only child, the DD. |
Taiboo, What you have drawn up is perfect I think. If you are making the quilt, then do it how you want it. If the other mothers want something different then let them make another one themselves. The baby will love the bright colors as I am sure the teacher will. Even if the children just drew around their hand & put there name inside would be cute. You are making it so you decide. Can't wait to see your quilt finished.

Humanity did fine, not knowing, for all of human history, now all of the sudden, it's a huge inconvenience not to know? One of my favorite birth memories was a woman with 5 girls, having her 6th baby, take her just born baby from the midwife's hands, kissing the baby and saying, " my love, my life, my precious one, my treasure", to her 6th girl. Just sayin'...

I agree, make the quilt you planned. If the room Moms want something else let them make it.
