Julie in NM 03-08-2010 06:24 PM

Gal at work is having a baby in Sept and I want to make baby quit for her. I don't expect to be at the job past July so want to give her a quit before I leave. Don't see her on a regular basis so not sure if I'll ever hear if its a boy or girl.

Have LOTS of fab in my stash but not sure what colors I should use for the quilt. Maybe brights? Log Cabin? Don't have enough juvenile prints for eye spy pattern? Any suggestions :?:

Thanks for the help.

Will you have a chance to ask her what the theme for her nursery is going to be? That would give you an idea of the colors she would prefer.

I personally would go with the brights, they are so much fun and are not gender specific either.

yellows, greens,
these days pinks and blues are interchangeable.

Pick you favourite pattern, then use your colours to make it pop.
Bright, basic colours without injuring the eye!

Bright primary colors. They are what a baby sees first.

I always think of gingham in multiple colours like green, purple, yellow, pink and blue to me that says baby unisex. I also love pinwheels!

I just gave a quilt for a shower gift. I used some non-traditional colors. It was for a girl, bit it could easily be modified for a boy.

I just made a baby quilt for a girl who's on "team green"- she chose not to know. I made it out of bright batiks in purples, greens, yellows, orange, reds, pinks and blues. I figured I'd cover all the bases!

Please just don't do the whole quilt in yellows... some, yeah, sure, but not the whole quilt...
