Glacier Star Timelines
Has anyone here actually made the glacier star pattern? and if so what is a realistic time frame for it? I just want to know if its going to be years in the making or if I tough it out will it only be a month or two.

I have one started. In a single weekend, I cut all the fabric and sewed the first two units. If you work at it, you could easily do a unit in less than a week. I am working on the star part and I am OCD about seams matching up which is taking me a lot longer. I have half of them done and haven't touched the pattern for a couple of months. I've got to get back at it.

I have the pattern, but need to either buy a kit, or start on gathering fabrics. Such decisions on colors, etc. ;)

I have the pattern & want to start it, but have gotten busy & must finish up first. I'm anxious to see yours! It's such a beautiful pattern!!

It all depends on how much time you spend on it each day. If you work at a good pace it will be months rather than years. Are you making the wall hanging (60x60) or the queen size (90x90)? That will also determine how long it takes.

Not on Glacier Star, but....my Amazin Star took about 2 months to piece.

Heirlooms like that take the time they take.
If you were in a hurry you'd be at the department store buying a blanket :) |
Kalama, you are certainly correct. Picking fabric took 2 months, cutting and sorting took almost a week. And quilting? My guess is at least a month.
