Weird question....
Would you consider using Glad Press and Seal Wrap to write your quilting patterns on? I don't mean quilt patterns, I mean if you are going to hand or machine quilt something and you draw it on the press n seal and then sew it and take the press n seal off when you are done. What do you guys think? Someone suggested this at another forum...and I had never heard of it. Melissa |
It will leave a sticky residue........it does even on bowls........I've had to scrub to get it all off of my bowls
|
I've heard that it's great.... but maybe ours is a little different to yours. One of our local long-armers has used it and raves about it. No residue, it just lifts off.

It probably reacts differently to fabric.......I just know what it has left on glass bowls.
Hey if it works for a longarmer and doesn't gunk up her machine.....then it must work fine. :) |
I've used it with no problems. If your pattern is nice & open it's great, but as with all tissues etc. if your pattern design is small & fiddly there are teensy pieces to pick out afterwards. I read some place that it's probably not the greatest thing for your machine because the needle could poke the little pieces of plastic wrap down into your machine workings, but I would think the same goes for most of the different papers etc. that are on the market. I've used it and had no problems either. It doesn't leave residue on fabrics, but there can be some tiny bits to pick out with tweezers depending on your design.
|
I've written to the Glad folks and their response is that it's not meant to be used with a sewing machine and could void your warranty. I've used it and not had any problems but my machine is due for a maintenance cleaning soon so will talk to the dealer and see what he recommends.
