Glue for quilting

I followed a link about Precision Piecing on the Quilt Show in a post a couple of months ago. Have tried the Elmers glue and the Roxanne one before and I am definitely NOT a fan. They dedicated the whole show to this couple. Can’t remember their name. She is nationally known for her precision piecing. They have developed a glue product that is fantastic!!! The company name is Acorn Precision Piecing Products. The glue is clear and you just squeeze out little drops that stay beaded up on your fabric til you put pieces together and press. It takes such a small amount that I still have 1/2 little bottle after using for borders and binding on several quilts. Great on long borders or long strips in between blocks (no accidental stretching while pinning or stitching. Also liked their pressing product for small block pieces. Search it on YouTube for videos. Just can’t say enough about these great new, at least to me, products. Big Thanks for whoever gave the “heads up” in the original post.

It certainly looks great and is getting really good reviews. Here is the link to the demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS1dN7kVEDc

I remember that couple! It's Shelly Scott-Tobisch and Bernie Tobisch. I had posted a link to their appearance on The Quilt Show a few months back because the husband was a sewing machine technician and had such fabulous information about sewing machine and tension issues and fixes. I haven't seen the glue available locally, will have to put a bug in the ear of my LQS owner. :D

Here's a link to the episode, which I believe is available to watch for free until Dec 31. The video shows both a demonstration of the glue, and the info about tension. Well worth watching.

I love the Acorn precision ironing spray and glue. They are excellent products. I buy it on Amazon.

But not at the price it's selling on there now. I paid $7.95 for the 4 oz refill and free shipping. I should have bought more. LOL

I wonder if you just purchased the bottle and filled it yourself???? Amazon has 10 bottle for $6.39. $20 for a bottle of glue just seem unreasonable.

Roxanne's glue is Elmer's glue. Elmer's also comes in clear, washable. I refill my Roxanne's bottle with Elmers. The needle tip is great.

One tiny dot of the Acorn holds strong. I use less of it. My 4 oz bottle is half full after almost a year for spot gluing seams. I use spray or Elmer's for quilt basting. Roxanne's is good for gluing binding, it's not as 'wet' as Elmers, but not as powerful hold as Acorn brand per dot. That is what I have noticed using all of them. Oh, Appliquick is the best tube glue! Great for applique.
