Well it's Monday and time to post new goals for this week.
Hope you finished the goal(s) for last week. If you did, Congratulations. If they're still not completed, put them on this week's list and get them done! WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS TO GET DONE BY SUNDAY NIGHT? |
My goals for this week (besides working and probably canning a whole bunch more jars of pickles   )
pertain to *2* baby quilts I need to finish soon. 1. Sandwich them correctly and pin well. 2. Sew around the perimeter and trim and turn right side out. 3. Begin quilting...(notice I said BEGIN quilting...I'm almost certain I won't be able to finish 2 by Sunday night...but hey - I'll TRY!) Posting my progress here does help me. I wonder if it helps YOU? |
Over my vacation I started a new project, Grandmothers flower garden. All hand pieced of course, so..
1. piece one block(at least) 2. can some pickles(never done this) 3. clean out pantry |
To get the rest of my blocks done for my Halloween 1904 quilt done! Gotta hurry, its almost here!
|
Finish quilting and binding my summer PP quilt. Maybe do a little cleaning (blah) and some laundry.
|
Will be leaving on vacation to the coast today for a week. Will bring my hand quilting to do (UFO) and some cross-stitch to do teacups. (Was motivated by another posting severals days ago.) Want to incorporate them into a wall-hanging...eventually.
Won't have internet connection for a week...I'll miss all of you!!! |
MY Goals for this week:
1. work on class samples 2. finish bag for Lisa 3. varnish pieces for Tricia 4. work on ANY UFO 5. send out class descriptions to the shop now that I have written them down here I am going to write them in my date book and really try to get um done |
Finish unpacking from a retreat I got home from 2+ weeks ago.
I at least finally got what was still in my car out yesterday It's very hot here in New Hampshire |
My goals for the week:
1. Visit our county fair several times...good food and it is fun to watch the livestock shows and see the 4H exhibits in the exhibit hall. (Even more fun because our kids are all out of 4H now and I don't actually have to be there.) 2. Press the backing fabric I purchased for a quilt that is all set to go to be long-armed. 3. Finish piecing the a top that needs to be finished in the next week, or so. The long-arm gal has me scheduled for 2 quilts at the beginning of Aug. |
I have 18 lbs of cucumbers that need a canning today! Yikes! Hopefully this week I will finish quilting my niece's quilt and bind 3 small baby quilts.
|
so, i finished quilting baby quilt (65" square) and have the binding 1/2 on, have to hand stitch the rest...hopefully today
started working on the late round robin...tried 3 different blocks..either don't like the block...don't like the fabric...don't like the way it looks with the rest....this is a nightmare, I HAVE TO FINISH THE ROUND ROBIN THIS WEEK!!! i'm not putting anything else on my list till i get this done!!! (except, getting the binding done on the baby quilt) |
I'm hoping to get my UFO's finished this week. I have several so I decided to finish a Georgia Tech quilt for a guy in Georgia that was suppose to be done and sent months ago.
I have a Boston Terrier Wallhanger to finish for my dogs message therapist guy that was suppose to be finished a few months ago. Then in the middle of those I started a "No Guilt Quilt" for me that I want to get done. So thats my agenda for the week. I better get at it. :-D |
My goals for this week.
1. finish a quilt top or 2. 2. clean, clean, clean. It needs to be done. 3. pay bills and balance check book. 4. Have dinner with in-laws Thurday, because it is DH's and DS's b-days this week. Not looking forward to it neither is DH. 5. finish buying b-day gifts. I am sure there is more that I need to get done. |
Finish quilting a Christmas table topper and put binding on
get more blocks done for new quilt cut out a new purse for my daughter lets hope it all gets done, other thing always seem to get in the way :) :) |
I want to quilt the baby quilt I finished piecing yesterday
|
My goals for this week:
1. Make 7 panels for bargello class being held on Saturday 2. Finish dresden plate blocks and assemble quilt top 3. Quilt two quilts and attach binding 4. make a bag. Hmm..I wonder if I can do this? LOL |
Since last week, I finished very few of my goals, I think this week I am just going to wing it. I probably will get more accomplished because I will be home all week! Hallelujah. No more VBS, no more running around. (Just a few evenings of Taekwondo, and I can do school work there.)
|
I need to finish my wall hanging! AND most of all try to get a new job!
|
Today I will finish putting the binding on a flannel lap quilt. Then there will be no more quilting for the week.
Tomorrow a friend is flying in from PA so we will pick him up and take him through Yellowstone Park. Then our County Fair is going on & I will help with the needlework judging on Friday. Nitty Grity Dirt Band concert that night. Back to the airport on Saturday so our friend can fly home (airport is 100 miles away). I'll have more quilting goals next week!!! |
Wow - some of us have great lists and others are enjoying life with family and friends. Wonderful either way.
Have a great day |

Ok, this is my first time putting up a list, so I hope I don't over-do myself.
1. Make potholders and fabric card for my mother's 50th birthday and get them shipped!! 2. Quilt my Downy quilt 3. Quilt a baby quilt 4. Make and quilt another baby quilt. Do you think I can get it done with a 1yr old and a 5yr old home all week, then my older two (11 and 12) come home Thursday and back to watching my friends two kids (9 and 10) on Friday? I think my plate is a bit full and I spend WAY too much time on this quilting board!! |
Hopefuly I finish my doll quilt top and start quilting it.
|
Well I needed to finish and get shipped several kits
and they were done yesterday. *Create a new kit ??? not sure what yet any ideas? *sew up 3 kits of Peace and Plenty and 7 sets of 4 patch stars and get them in the mail *Finish my snowflake and snowmen blocks for the swap that should keep me busy! |
I'm gonna keep it simple.
1.Get around to quilting the baby quilt my sister needs by the end of the month. 2.Work on the uneven log cabins. I say work on them because I KNOW I won't get them done no matter HOW hard I try! |
I finished 1 quilt top yesterday, cleaning today and maybe finish the other top tomorrow. Thanks to this listing goals I think I might get my UFO's out of the way.
|
1. finish by co workers baby quilt and give it to her.
2. Ger my sisters quilt on the frame and start quilting it. |

Ok maybe just maybe you won't get them DONE but just think how much closer you'll be to getting there. 25% - 50% closer? That would be nice - because then you can do more next week. I love your first sentence though "Keep it Simple". These goal setting threads aren't here to make us upset with ourselves because we can't tackle 17 quilting projects in one week. It's to help us SEE THAT WE ARE DOING. (getting on my soapbox now) Standing up for all of us when I type this - WE do sooooo many things throughout our day (as parents, house tenders, students, bread winners, care givers, friends to others) that WE sometimes think we're not getting anything done. KWIM? Here we can list one or two or three quilty things to concentrate on - focus on - for the week. Work on it when you get a few minutes - get up early or stay up later for 30-60 minutes. It's YOUR TIME!!! At the end of the week hopefully you will see progress. The project doesn't have to be DONE. Finished has many phases. Think like the Little Engine "I think I can ....". (getting off my soapbox now - very carefully) :) |
I totally agree!
most of my quilting is for others at this point but I take 1 hour out of each day for "my quilting" but at the end of the month I still have finished quilts for my bed! |

My goals:
1) Finish the "candle mat" (21" x 21" quilt... probably going to use it on my breakfast nook table when it's all done) quilt top. 2) Finish my BOM for my LQS |
Found my way here again, geesh.
Clean chicken coop, clean barn, clean up compost pile area. Finish doll quilts, cut out templates through #10 on the Farmer's WIfe Quilt and piece them, finish Bow Tucks bag, sew Little Dresses for Africa, and at some point I need to clean house, buy groceries, and send off the doll quilts which are both late. As of today I did major grocery shopping yesterday. Doll quilt needs binding hand stitched. Can't find anymore template plastic but I did print out templates for Farmer's Wife quilt to #25. Get off here and go pick blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries (if they are ready). I've been slow this week. |
