Lets see! Besides the usual, cooking, gardening and cleaning-
1. Quilt and bind daughter's baby quilt. 2. Finish birthday dress for grandaughter. 3. Get the last wall and roof up for my new lawn shed so I can finally clean out my basement.(Leave more room for storing fabric) |
Wed.- redo list from Monday- haha.
Today I am "off"- but not really, waiting for repairman to say he is on his way. My car was dropped off for inspection at 7 a.m. There are several cars here but they don't go out in the rain, so I'm doing laundry (darn, have to use the dryer) and cleaning rooms we don't use. The formal living room seems to be the dropping point for things no one knows where to put, so I cleaned that first. Broke down cardboard for recycling tomorrow. Now packing a box with fabric and things for DD. Will mail to LV later. Copied a pattern so I can cut shapes for 2 blocks for our family reunion quilt. Would like to have them done later today. Looked at my purchases again from last week- swearing off spending money again- this time for 2 months instead of one. I really do have too much fabric. Kind of hard to really start something. I will go back to work as soon as my car is done. But, I am enjoying my time- I love to organize and the house needs it. Best of all- no one here to say- save that, I might need it someday! Have a productive day everyone! |
OK, here's my list. Just for today I will:
1. Finish embroidry on Yellow Rose quilt 2. Mail off 2 July swap blocks. 3. Finish last block for sister's 12 set swap. 4. Make July Bible Block for 2nd sister's swap. 5. Take grandson home to mom because she misses him. (He's only been here 3 days...go figure!) |
Well I intend to keep it simple, so, I'll start with a list of the lists I have to make of all the things I know will not get done this week, and by the time I finish there won't be time to do any of the things I should do. I think I have a good system going here.
|
I didn't make a list, but since DH is gone til late Sat. night, I sorted and washed some fabric, fixed a tear in a bag I bought on garage sale, made chair cover for husband's chair, going to DD's now for supper so MAYBE can finally start cutting my blocks for the 9 patch challenge-gee, tomorrow I'm only 30 blocks behind!!! That is along with helping take care of neighbor lady which is daily, helping with my mom which is also daily, and loving the poor neglected "babies" that are missing "daddy"! For me, this is alot done, hard to sew when DH is around--too noisy!!!

Come on - fess up - name ONE THING you want to get done in the next 4 days - then let us know if you succeeded. |
Got ironing in tonight - MADE MYSELF DO IT!
Actually I really didn't want to come back to you ladies and say I didn't get any ironing done.   :P Now that would have been difficult. Last night and this morning (to keep the dog quiet - long story) I sewed some crumb blocks together with a "oh well I'm sure they'll be beautiful" and a "hurry up and see how many you can put together before the dog wakes up again" speed. Amazed myself even! LOL Night! |
1) Finish July's doll quilt, which I'm having a bll with
2) fINISH jULY'S BEE BLOCK 3) work on my patriotic wall hangings(4) 4) figure out what I want to quilt on the neighbor's quilt. Gotta get it done, but cant decide what to quilt on it. 5) finish my snowman/snowflakes for the swap. That's all I want to get done this week. |
prep and sew applique on my MIL Christmas quilt 2) get sashing and connectors for BRandW quilt 3 ) finish quilting 2 snowmen wall hangngs,4) make templates for Cmas quilt for my mOM 5) make 2 baby quilts 6) start a Christmas tree wall hanging very large to take the place of real tree in dining room 7) finish 2 crocheted baby blankets and 8) make myself some winter clothes and even if I turn out to be Wondr Woman I have a gazillion more things that need finishing ASAp!! DooDah!!
|
Work on those two quilts for the twins who were born a while ago.
|
I just hate ironing clothes, but I found a way to go through the pile . Whenever I sew, I place the to-be-ironed basket near the I-Board. Every time I get up to open a seam, I iron one piece, before going back to the sewing machine. Certainly have less sewing done but I feel good about the well pressed clothes.
|
Well, this week should be pretty productive-
Today finished web design for my website. Tomorrow I will start by taking pictures of my quilt room before I start to organize it and all the fabric! Pictures to follow if I can figure out how that is done! |
I need to finish this months doll swap quilt, and then I have a couple more to get done on request. and make 3 more sun dresses for grand daughter. God bless. Penny
|
As of tonight, I will have to do a little rescheduling because of helping DH with the garage on Mon. and some roofing. Tuesday my back and hips hurt like crazy and I was all cattywompus. My left shoulder was 2" higher than my left shoulder and I ached pretty good. It's what happens when you have fibro., osteo this, osteo that., yada, yada, yada.
I have finished cutting, sewing, washing and ironing 8 more pilllowcases for the Pillowcase Challenge making a total of 16 so far. Pieced Junes Doll quilt, quilted it, will finish binding Thursday afternoon or eve. Finished piecing July Doll quilt, had it quilted, didn't like it, took it out, will redo tom then bind it. Cleaned up my sewing area. Did more laundry, dinner, talked to DS three times as he was driving to Kansas CIty area, had good talk with DD about her job(s), talked with Workman's Comp. Dr.. Thursday I will tie up the tomato plant tops (boy are they looking good), finish cleaning my gardening bench in the garage, brush Laddie, clip Kadens nails, mow the lawn (approx. 2 acres) and trim front yard, shower, dinner, sew. |
Wow, this is already the 14th.
1. Go to work 4 days 2. Dialyze DH 4 evenings after work 3. eat 4. sleep 5. Completely make 4 bow tuck bags that I have orders for. 6. Go to sew in on Sat from 9 - 3 7. Go to church Sunday morn. 8. watch Home Run Derby and All Star game and Cardinals games while dialyzing hubby and sewing. 9. Laundry on non dialysis days due to water pressure. K, that's enough for this week. LOL |

Again, putting off til next week. 10) Get my kitchen ready for a new dishwasher that is hopefully going to be delivered this week! Pretty clean and ready, they just haven't called to let me know it is in. Guess that will have to be next week too. |

Sharon Hope someone will add to this and tell me if I am doing it correctly. |
Really got a heavy heavy weekend planned.
#1 Revamp the Studio - put up shelves, paint and put everything away and label #2. Work on Antique quilt. #3. Paint living room, hall, and dining room #4. Work on applique quilt for living room wall. #5. Shop for fabric for a weekend bag I'm making in a class. That should keep me out of trouble for a day or two. |
so, the week is almost up...i got up at 4am this morning to finish the binding on sister's quilt (her birthday is tomorrow) have to get it washed after work today. but so far...that is all i've accomplished so far this week...i did work on a ufo i really want to finish up for a couple hours yesturday during some down-time at work...but it's not close to done yet. and i realized this morning while binding that it is almost August!!! OMG!!! our family picnic is the 2nd saturday in August and i had hoped to have the quilts for my neice's done in time for the picnic...5 of them!!! i know what i'm planning to do for each one...but ... boy oh boy... i really need to 'get with the program! they may wind up being for Christmas instead...but i did bring (prep-work) with me today to get some parts done for 2 of them...even when i knock items off my to-do list it just seems to grow and grow...but when i get the girls quilts done that will finally mean i have finally given quilts to every member of both families (mine and hubby's) before all of the adults had received quilts but my neices and nephew had afghans instead...and i have been informed it's about time for quilts ;)
one step forward, two steps back... |

No ironing or sewing for me yesterday. I canned pickles after working all day. Whewww! Maybe I'll get a day or two before I have to can more pickles. Looks like today is not going to work either. |
I want to finish my horse wall hanging and get my sewing stuff cleaned up. Been looking for a job, so that is taking up way too much time, lol!
|
FINAL DAY for this week's goals!

Baste and quilt a queen size quilt. Been avoiding it but the wedding is coming up!
|
Thanks to the dog waking me up early - I've sewn lots of crumb blocks.
Still need to iron and that should be do-able because I'll also be washing clothes in the area. GET UP QUILTERS!!! |

[quote=quiltinghere]
So this week's goal is to FINISH that ironing and maybe try a few Crumb Blocks. quote] This thread helped my FINISH my ironing. It helped doing a little each day. I also put together about *30* crumb blocks - those things were addicting. It also *helped???* that the dog woke me up very early and I used that time to sew in a room with him there just to keep him quiet. I also have more blocks in various stages because that's the way I build them. |
So today I finished potting the potaoe plants, planted the Blue Spruce, and spent 2 1/2 hours raking, combing, Furminatig , and using Miracle Groom to groom the dogs plus trim nails. Took my plant fertilizers, insecticides, etc. off top shelf in gaage for DH to paint. Did animal chores. That was enough for my back. Rested with the ice on my back for awhile.
Are we starting a new one for this week? I'll start. Week of July 19th. Clean chicken coop, clean barn, clean up compost pile area. Finish doll quilts, cut out templates through #10 on the Farmer's WIfe Quilt and piece them, finish Bow Tucks bag, sew Little Dresses for Africa, and at some point I need to clean house, buy groceries, and send off the doll quilts which are both late. |
This week: lable and wrap Yellow Rose birthday quilt for Heaven, sash, border, sandwich and quilt patriotic quilt for BFF in Michigan (she will be here to visit me in 2 weeks, so I have a deadline on this one), finish moving packed boxes to new location, get daughters help to move fridge to new garage (using as an extra for cold drinks, water, popsickles, etc),trim box hedges in front of house, paint potting shed table and clothes line poles, and make Bible Block # 10 for sister #2!

Sew Mom has asked about my Yellow Rose Quilt so here is my confession to everyone. Hope we are still friends! lol
The yellow roses were 2 yards of cheater cloth. I fussy cut them, bordered and sashed them. Sandwiched and quilted and viola: Roses for Heaven I embroidered "Now I lay me down to sleep..." across the bottom and "Heaven Sent across the top. Heaven is my daughter's best friend's little girl. She loves roses and this is for her 7th birthday. (sat) |
