Ok, Took grandangel home to mama, mailed off 3 pkgs and finished Sister #7's last block. Now today I will do more embroidery on the Yellow Rose quilt and do 1 Bible Block for sister #2's quilt. Still have 2 days to finish embroidery and make bias binding for Yellow Rose quilt!

I made 6 bassinet sheets and a wipes case for my DGD this week, which was my goal. YEA!! Have company the coming week so won't have a chance to get any sewing done. Good luck all ;)

While I have only started a crumb quilt, I believe the correct way to do it is start with two reasonable rectangles and then just add your little pieces of fabric to it in any fashion one wants. However, the one requirement is the seam must be a straight line or the quilt block will not lie flat. Then someone told me I should use a piece of backing to all of these crumb blocks so I tried that for a couple blocks. I prefer the first way and then when I get it big enough, I cut it down to 5-1/2 inches. From there I plan to use a constant fabric and set everything on point. But, like I say, I have not finished anything--just making blocks from scraps of my good fabrics.

Hope someone will add to this and tell me if I am doing it correctly.

Really got a heavy heavy weekend planned.
#1 Revamp the Studio - put up shelves, paint and put everything away and label
#2. Work on Antique quilt.
#3. Paint living room, hall, and dining room
#4. Work on applique quilt for living room wall.
#5. Shop for fabric for a weekend bag I'm making in a class.
That should keep me out of trouble for a day or two.

so, the week is almost up...i got up at 4am this morning to finish the binding on sister's quilt (her birthday is tomorrow) have to get it washed after work today. but so far...that is all i've accomplished so far this week...i did work on a ufo i really want to finish up for a couple hours yesturday during some down-time at work...but it's not close to done yet. and i realized this morning while binding that it is almost August!!! OMG!!! our family picnic is the 2nd saturday in August and i had hoped to have the quilts for my neice's done in time for the picnic...5 of them!!! i know what i'm planning to do for each one...but ... boy oh boy... i really need to 'get with the program! they may wind up being for Christmas instead...but i did bring (prep-work) with me today to get some parts done for 2 of them...even when i knock items off my to-do list it just seems to grow and grow...but when i get the girls quilts done that will finally mean i have finally given quilts to every member of both families (mine and hubby's) before all of the adults had received quilts but my neices and nephew had afghans instead...and i have been informed it's about time for quilts ;)
one step forward, two steps back...

I'd say it definately helped you - and a surprise for you

It's only Friday = you still have Saturday and Sunday to finish up. I start these on Monday morning!

Totally understandable! Good luck - lock the sewing room door and tell them 'I ran away' when they knock!

No ironing or sewing for me yesterday. I canned pickles after working all day. Whewww! Maybe I'll get a day or two before I have to can more pickles.

Looks like today is not going to work either.
