My friend has invited several ladies from my guild to come over and sew and stay ove. She is going to show us how to make a block she learned to do at one of our classes.

We are going to cook ahead and eat as we get hungry :thumbup: Do not want to waste time cooking :-D :-D i am taking a fruit salad and a breakfast casserole.

6 to 8 of us do that here in February every year. We all pack up and go to one of the girls cabin in the woods and we quilt all weekend. i never got out of my jammies this year. We have a large counter full of food and we just sew and eat and laugh for three days. We usually start sometime Friday.

Oh what fun, maybe I wil have that in my future. I likw the woods in the cabin idea, the retreats here in socal seem to be more to a resort and that doens't really interest me at this time.

A group of us do that each October. We eat, laugh, quilt, laugh and we have sew much fun! Wish it could be more often. I hope you have alot of fun!

A few times a year, we rent a local town hall building and do a retreat where we go home and sleep in our own beds,and share bringing food for meals. (Just did this last weekend!) Another time, we rent a facility about half an hour away where we do sleep over, and they cook for us. And, once or twice a year I go visit friends where I used to live and we either sew at one friends house, or her cabin about an hour north of there.
No matter how you do it, it is always fun to get together and sew with others!
