Golden Afternoon pattern
Free pattern from the fabric manufacturer of Aria line of fabric site has a digital representation to illustrate the end result. I wondered if anyone who completed this pattern might have a photo and could post the same.

Have you tried "googling" it?
|
Is this the quilt you mean?
http://www.pinkcastleblog.com/2014/0...-kits-and.html Why they showed it unquilted, hanging poorly on a line in front of a beat-up trailer is beyond me. It doesn't look very attractive this way, IMHO. |
I found the pdf under Google.
https://www.google.com/search?q=Gold...ih=614#imgrc=_ Not a lot of quilt stores carrying this free pattern or the fabrics It is a simple quilt of just HST. I agree with dunster, not a great photo of it in front of an older trailer. |
I think it is quilted in the photo, I believe I can see a binding there. It's very pretty.
|
I assume this is the pattern you're asking about,
http://www.liveartgalleryfabrics.com...structions.pdf but want a picture of an actual finished quilt as opposed to the digital picture on this pattern. |
I'm sorry, but the pattern shown in front of the trailer was not the one to which I was referring.
Benartex's fabric collection Aria by Dover Hill Studio was designed into a Golden Afternoon pattern by Tailormade by Design. http://www.benartex.com/uploads/Imag...noonquiltF.pdf I'm wondering how the "real McCoy" would appear as at the bottom of the page it states "actual fabric repeats will vary from design shown". |
I don't think you'd have to worry about it. They're just saying that the portion of the pattern that shows on the large print squares in the quilt you make isn't going to match the photo exactly; but the overall effect will be the same
|
I'm trying to decide whether the curvy fabric will line up as illustrated, or be quite a bit different in overall effect. http://www.benartex.com/catalogsearc...ex/?p=2&q=aria
(The Cantata print is the fabric I'm deciding upon.) I don't know if the quilt will be symetrical and also whether the quilt will breathe, so to speak. |

I know that this quilt is not the one being asked for by the OP, but I like this quilt, and I like seeing it hanging on the line in front of an old trailer. That's life in the rough. There are strips of fabric tied onto the line in even intervals, so a lot of work went into making the background to that picture. Even the wrinkled quilt makes me feel calm. |
They are all pretty!

It will be a beautiful wedding gift! I would love to see your version when complete.
|
I think it's a shame that people are concerned about the surroundings of the quilt photo.
|
newBE....I believe the curvy pattern called for 1 l/8 yd of fabric, if in doubt simply purchase about a half yard more or so to make sure you get all the curves you need or want. Left overs can go into your stash.

Different strokes for different folks. I also like the quilt staged in front of the trailer. Works for me.
|
What a pretty pattern - Thanks for sharing it.

HAHAHA...I agree with you completely about where it is exhibited but I think the quilt is done and bound. Think I see some binding. As for the "stage", I think it'supposed to be artsy. You know, pretty, soft quilt juxtaposed against the old beat up trailer? Sort of like photographing a model wearing a bikini against the harsh rocks of the desert??? As for the rags hanging on the line with the quilt: I watched a home improvement show the other day and they used the same technique for a baby's room. Tied multi-colored rags on thin rope so it sort of looked like they were hanging on a clothesline and called it a wall hanging. So there we go. We just don't understand art!!!!

looks like an easy pattern as the 9 patch squares are cut from stripes and that makes it go faster. Good Luck
