I agree - keep knotting - can't do too much.

I make a quilter's knot, wrap the thread around the needle three times and pull to the end. then I bury under the seam allowance.

i don't knot for hand quilting anymore. i just sew several stitches hidden in a seam. go forward a couple stitches, back one and then forward again. i guess, because i would look later, and my knots hadn't popped. they were still visiable on the back side.

Binding is the only hand work I do on a quilt. I will knot the thread, run it in the batting & then take 2-3 sm. stitches in the seam allowance. At the end of my thread I do a few stitches, travel about 1/2" & do a few more stitches, knot & clip thread. Written out it seems a long process but it really goes fast & my thread ends have never popped out. :D

I pop the knot in the quilt batting and then pull the thread tight and snip. The ends goes out of sight. To get the knot to pop into the batting easy, hold the knot in place with your thumbnail. Pull the thread and the knot will pop right in place. This is the way I start and stop the thread. I snip the starting thread close to the knot so no tails will be showing.
