Good Intentions

So what kind of a weekend is every having? All week long, have been looking forward to spending today in my sewing room. Am working on a bow tie table topper and wanted to make a spring valance for the living room. "Sir Chugs Alot" my sewing machine wanted no part of it. Almost immediately ran out of bobbin thread. Wound another and from that point on the problems multiplied. Spent 35-45 minutes threading and re-threading, taking the bobbin mechanism out and cleaning (nothing there to clean). Readjusted the tension. Finally seemed alright and then the machine kept coming un-threaded. Eventually after my 4th soaker hot flash, I just walked away. Perhaps the machine sensed the estrogen melt down? Anyhow, if I want that much aggravation, I can go into work! Would someone please remind me again of why we chose to quilt?!

I did sorta have intentions of doing some sewing. DH was gone (just got home, in fact) and I really thought I might just enjoy myself. Instead, I stayed up too late last evening watching college basketball, slept way too late this morning, and have spent the afternoon playing around on my computer, etc. Needless to say...I have wasted my weekend. :(

Oh no!!!! Sorry, we all have bad days. We quilt, because it's fun...most of the time...lol. Take a break from it and go back and try again. Sending Hugs!!!!

I restarted a baby quilt for my new grandson that will be born in April. I say restarted because I started one pattern, had everything cut out, I kept having problems with it and wanted it to be made because I am taking a small trip to In on the 21st and I wanted to be sure it was finished before he was born. I told him to wait on me.lol
I finally made something different and I have the top finished except for borders. The seam ripper and
I have had a wonderful time together.

so sorry to hear of your frustrations. tomorrow will be a better day :)

Sorry you're having so much trouble. Sometimes the best thing is to just walk away and come back to it the next day.
I had plans to work in my sewing room today but somehow never made it up there. Tomorrow is another day though, right?

Yes, it seems like there are days like that. I spent the morning cutting out 3 blocks for a sampler quilt and ended up having to recut 2 of the blocks because I kept cutting it out wrong. Finally got them cut out right and spent the afternoon putting them together. Tonight am playing on the computer between handquilting a civil war quilt.

Really wanted to sew today, but had to prepare food & clean because we're having a wine & cheese party tomorrow. Usually by March we're all so tired of the cold weather, trying to survive "cabin fever" , so DH & I decided in January to have a party in March to help alleviate the winter doldrums. Of course this winter was so mild that we were able to get out & do stuff without freezing, but we're still partying tomorrow. Who can turn down wine, cheese & chocolate?!?! ;-)

I have been helping my Mother, 89 years old, do a tube quilt, that Nancy Zieman demonstrated on her site. She did one last year after I taught her how. Now she is making one for her youngest DGS and DGD. BUT, she seemed to have forgotten the method, so I went to her house this morning to help her get going. Yikes not so easy, spent the whole afternoon, helping her with her quilt.....So happy she is still able to quilt, and her DGS nad DGD will be so happy to have a quilt from Grandma.
