good morning low shank or high shank ??????????
 
good morning I have a janome 8050 that I brought at hancock fabric I want to try and quilt free motion on a little christmas quilt. now I do not know what kind of foot I need there are so many. There are so many darning feet. I have been watching some vidios by leah day and just can,t figure out what to order been on janome wed site too any help out there I am so new to quilting but I am so hooked thank you for any suggestions
someone told me this machine was made for hancocks only but they do not carry the foot they did not know if it was low shank or high shank

Did you get a manual with the machine? Check there first. If that doesn't help, contact the nearest Janome dealer in your area. They will probably have the foot you need or will be able to give you the part number.

thank you all for your information I just ordered a complete set of low shank walking foot and darning foot I did look it up and measured my foot bar at annies hope this works if it dont i can send it back really excited to try free motion quilting I might mess it up but it will keep my mind and my hands busy love this forum and all the help you all share so freely

I have never had good luck with generic feet with my Bernina. I would have bought a foot that was made by Janome. I will keep my fingers crossed. Good Luck !!

I highly recommend getting the feet made for your brand of machine. Many reports that generic does not work satisfactory. Save for those that do work. You will be glad.

It is a low shank machine, and stick with Janome or Kenmore feet for best results.
