Good night Irene Quilt

This is what I am working on and It is a tough one, I will be surprised if it go's together alright. Too many small snow balls and 2 1/2 squares. I thought I was accurate but does not look good. Anyone else made this and your perspective?

When snowballing corners, I make sure to sew beside the line and check that the flip out corner is accurate before trimming.

Yes I did that also, sometimes to much beside the line.!

My mother's name was Irene so this would be a wonderful pattern to honor her memory and thank her for teaching me to sew 65 years ago, but all those pieces!!!!! Maybe a smaller wall hanging for my bedroom? Time to bring out the bucket list and add to it. haha

I am getting it done, and I think because I trim my block to 8 and 1/4 it is going to line up. It was suppose to be 8 and 1/2. Now I have to square up the pieces for the borders. I am getting there. I will show a picture when quilt is finished.

I didn't get any picture.

I did a quick search and Good Night Irene is another name for Arkansas Crossroads .I have made several and will likely make more. Hang in there and remember Sewingsuz that accuracy is goal but the product is a beautiful quilt that will warm and please the heart. Post a photo when you're ready.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png

PS. I found that using the webbing techniques when piecing the 2.5 blocks blocks makes them more accurate and it goes faster. That is my favorite part. That and watching my 2.5 blocks disappear from their bins.

What is the webbing technique, ? Is that a a woven stuff that has a grid?

I do what Tartan suggested. I too always flip the corner over to see if it is even before I cut off the excess. Good luck on your quilt Suz

Irene was my Mom's middle name. She was always known as Irene. She didn't like her first name.
