I'm about a third of the way through with my Penrose Quilt. It's EPP'ed.

i think pretty much every block is a candidate for hand piecing- especially the ones you need precision for- since the precision of hand piecing is so much better than machine piecing.
the only ones that may be a pain are foundation ones- because you are working through extra layers- but i've done log cabins, crazy blocks and pineapples all with foundation- all by hand-
visit Jinny Beyers web site- she hand pieces all of her spectacular quilts

Maybe the apple core - an apple core mini-bag - I put it on my to-do list recently, free on-line

I just found "pine burr" at quilterscache.com and I think it could make a good one because all the smaller pieces are the same shape -- I just need to create a page of templates to cut out and use. I am thinking of doing it once I finish my GFG.

I am also thinking about doing blocks in maroon, hunter green and blue colorways.
