Good score!

I got this table http://www.joann.com/home-hobby-table/xprd830869/, cutting mat and iron cover for $100! It should help with cutting and holding quilts next to my machine while quilting. I can't wait to use it. :)

Was it on sale?

Sauki1 06-23-2013 09:22 AM

No, it was from a friend moving away. Just a good deal :)

That will make it so much easier for cutting and basting layers. Great deal for you! :-)

FYI If you ever have a problem with it swaying like I did, and if the problem is not evident, it is the welding cracking at the metal joints on the legs. Drove me crazy because it was swaying so bad that I couldnt use it for cutting. Couldnt detect where the problem was until my friends husband took a look at it and saw the broken welding. The next day we were having a metal gate installed and noticed the guys were doing some welding. I asked them very nicely if they could fix my table and they agreed. Has been fine ever since. I have seen others on this board mention their Joanns tables were doing the same thing.

DH got me one of those years ago but from Keepsake Quilting. I love it. I fold a couple of towels at one end and use it for ironing; have my mat at the other end for cutting. Clear off the whole thing for basting. Just wish it was a tad shorter but more than workable.

Awesome, thanks for the tip, Snip. I did notice it moving but a screw came out of it so I need to look for that before anything. It's in the room but not functioning yet as I need to set up my room and put my machine back in it. :)

Thats a great deal. Mine is in the basement and everyone else uses it for their projects too. I have a cutting mat that fits the entire top and the ironing top too. I love it for big projects but for really large quilts, I still take them to church. Mine is a little loose but not really wobbly. I think it's because of the gate legs. They just aren't really sturdy type of legs.

I purchased one at a garage sale two years ago. I use it for a sewing and cutting table and have to use a bar stool when sewing because of its height. I use two pieces of rubber packing material that came with something my husband ordred thru ebay and stuck them in the hole slpts where the legs slide in when the table is opened. This took care of some of the wobble and the legs stay put now. To further stablize the table top I use a spring loaded shower cutain holder with the rubber ends and put one end under the table top and the other on the floor and adjust to hold. It does help a lot. Mine also has a large bump where the one hinge appears to be coming thru the top. I like it but am certainly happy I did not give full price for it.
