Is this a good tool to have??

I am wanting to use some patterns made from strip pieces of fabric and they seem to refer to this Stripe Tube ruler. Does it make it easier using this ruler or can I use any Omnigrid square?? I will be doing quite a few because my church group of sewers keep getting donated strips from Robert Kaufman. THANKS for the advice!!

I have this ruler and like it . Just place on the stitching line and cut.

I have no idea what that ruler is for! I guess I don't know what a "strip tube" is. It brings to mind that technique for cutting continuous bias binding from a tube of fabric but I have no idea if that's related or not.

I use my June Tailor rulers for cutting strips for quilt tops...love that thing!

I have it and like it too. It's great if you make a lot of the strip quilt patterns.

This acyclic tool is for cutting triangles from your sewn 2.5" strips. Click on this link and you can see some of the patterns.

I have done lots of tube cutting and I just use a square ruler. I decide how big I want it, mark a line with blue painter's tape and cut away.

I imagine it would be useful if you were going to make several of different sizes, but if you were going to make them all the same size, then save your money and do what Jingle says.

I have never used it myself but I have a friend who uses hers all the time. It is on my "want" list.

I learned something new today -- never heard of a strip tube ruler before!

I love my strip tube ruler I am much more accurate with it than I am using a square....for me it was worth it for accuracy sake I feel like I have saved money by not making errors and I know I have saved time and my sanity, but you can do the same thing with a square
