That is so awesome. I went to a garage sale last weekend and ended up with 150 yars of fabric, not including the precut quilt blocks in ziploc bags, for 96.00. It was awesome. All of it was lqs quality, newer lines and prewashed and ironed. There were 5 bags of precut 4 inch squares (300 squares per bag-no repeats), a wedding ring precut, ready to be sewed and 7 bags of fat quarters. It was a dream.

The GW in our area take part in the online Goodwill site, so I'm not expecting to see any really great bargins at our local store anymore. However it's stuff like a next to brand new pink on white print flat sheet for 2 or 3 dollars that make my day.

Mariposa 06-29-2011 08:43 AM

Terrific finds! :)

dcamarote 06-29-2011 08:47 AM

Bee-you--tee--full, now, what will you plan and do with that rainbow of lovely colors and fabrics? Dream on and enjoy, you are set for many months of fun!! Just Me in Ca (who at one time worked sorting fabrics for an enormous cooperative charity sale and who still sees samples in her stash years later.)

grannypat7925 06-29-2011 09:14 AM

WOW! Our Goodwill has nothing to compare to that!

bookfare 06-29-2011 09:54 AM

Wish I lived there!!! Every trip to our Goodwill is disgusting--a huge building with clothing, clothing, clothing. And that so expensive you might almost as well buy new. Never any fabrics, and all else except furniture stacked on top of clothing racks. A "shortie" like me can't even see what's there.

AUQuilter 06-29-2011 10:46 AM

great find and beautiful choices of colors

nangars 06-29-2011 10:56 AM

What a great deal, never seen anything like that in any of the Goodwill stores out here.

wenot 06-29-2011 11:38 AM

wow, you are lucky!

Margie 06-29-2011 12:18 PM

Put it to good use and enjoy it :)

serenitybygrace 06-29-2011 12:52 PM

I had never found any fabric in our Goodwill Store either until the last time I decided to walk through. I found several pieces of name-brand fabric on hangers among the sheets, towels, etc. I was thrilled! I do find fabric every now and then in Lawrence. It doesn't hurt to look.
I try to go on Tuesdays because that is their senior day.
That way, if I find something I want, I pay a % less than regular price.
You found some really nice fabric. Good for you!

littleone 06-29-2011 12:57 PM

wish we had such a store, only the regular goodwill. What a great find. lucky you

CircleSquare 06-29-2011 01:43 PM

:hunf: Good for you. Great haul, went to our Salavation Army and they had nothing that I couldn't live without. The lady said that they don't get fabric and the sewing machines that do come in go out as fast. Guess you just need to be there at the right time.

sahm4605 06-29-2011 01:55 PM

You going to share the wealth? Hehe that is great. I would go back and look for more.

wraez 06-29-2011 02:04 PM

Never heard of a Goodwill Pound Store .. what a great idea. You got a wonderful selection of fabrics!

I had not been to our local Goodwill store in about 3 yrs and then went 2 wks ago and felt they had 'high prices' for a thrift store. I had heard this from other people. Not sure if I will go back.

No fabrics or craft items to be found.

My favorite thrift store has relocated about an hrs drive away, and I won't drive that far to see if they have anything good to buy.

dellareya 06-29-2011 02:41 PM

Sounds like Friday was a very lucky day for you. Great find.

MargeD 06-29-2011 03:15 PM
