I have the kit but never made it.........I have many UFO's in kits .........enough to last for years.
I seen it made by another quilter and she put the gold on with a double needle and it came out beautiful. It is gorgeous when it is done. I'm going to go look for it!!! Been making runners for Christmas but forgot I had this.........thanks for reminding me. |
We did a workshop in guild using the gold narrow bias binding. Some used silver. Some used the fusible binding and some used a double needle to sew it. We made a lot of blocks look stained glass using the gold, silver or black narrow binding. The binding lays flat, the piping won't.

I was going to tell you about this book. I ordered it two years ago from Amazon. Love it.

I just bought this book. I've wanted a table runner for different holidays and never found one I liked enough to make. This could easily be changed for different holidays. Now to tell the mailman to hurry:)

My question on the fusible bias tape. There seems to be two sizes. Which have you used? |
Oh my gosh, I went to this website and got lost and almost forgot to come back. Lost in a good way! Very interesting blog! Ordered the book. I looked at Amazon for it and they wanted $65!! Sure hope she has it. The website took my credit card, so I am hopeful. Love that table runner!

You ladies get me in sooo much trouble!! Did you hear the heavy sigh - waiting for the mail carrier - gotta beat my DH to the box!

Love this table runner!! I checked Amazon, and even E Bay and well Amazon was way over priced (very surprising) and E bay did not even have one. Now just have to decide if I will ever really use it or will it just be a nice addition to my books!!!

I wouldn't say difficult Dee Dee, just a construction method I wouldn't normally use. With the squares fused to the batting I found some movement of them. Thats where the 'fussy' part came in. Making sure the gold bias covered the edges when stiching down.

Thanks MisDixie. Did you think it was difficult to do?

They also have a pattern for a fall table runner with pumpkin and gourds. It is in the book entitled "Indian Summer" by Brenda Henning and published by Bear Paw Productions. Same stained-glass technique.
I have made both and actually like the fall runner better. I would show a picture but they are long ago gifted and I didn't take pictures. |
